Elections for the 2018-2019 Alumni Board!

The Board of the AUEB MBA International Alumni Association is glad to announce that the General Elections for the New Board will be held electronically on Friday 2nd of March 2018 from 19:30 to 20:30! The e-voting procedure will take place at Room 105 in the new building facilities of the university located at 2 Troias str., Spetson & Kimolou with the support of AUEB and the use of the reliable platform ZEUS provided by the university.


E-Voting procedure

The e-voting procedure is very simple. Every active member of our Association who has the right to vote will receive prior to the beginning of the Elections via email all the necessary instructions as well as a link that will guide them to vote.

Who has the right to vote?

According to the Alumni Association terms and conditions, only registered and subscribed members are eligible to participate in the Elections. Please bear in mind that if you are not a registered member currently but you plan to get registered in order to be able to vote, you must do so the latest by Tuesday 27th of February 2018 through our webpage.

Want to submit a candidacy for the new Board?

In order to be able to submit your candidacy, you must be:

-          an active member of the Alumni Association (be registered and have an active subscription running)

-          an alumni (not a current student)

For logistics reasons the potential candidates for the board positions are requested to send their names at This email address is being protected from spambots. It is very important that activations of new subscriptions and candidacies will be accepted until the 27th of February. The e-voting on the 2nd of March will be open for an hour and it will begin as soon as the Election Commission will have completed all the preparations.

Career fair 2018

Career Fair 2018!

The Career Fair 2018 will take place on Wednesday 25th April 2018. The fair will start around 09.30 and last until around 19.00. It is a private event, where executives from leading international and local firms are invited to perform interviews exclusively with students and alumni of the i-MBA program.

If you wish you participate in the Career Fair, please note the following:

1. You should send your CV according to the appropriate format by, at the very latest, Monday 29th January to Ioanna Tranou (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.)

It is vital that you follow the appropriate format, i.e., one page only, in Word format, and with the same formatting as the sample (Text of the body is all set at font Verdana, font size 10).

In case you wish to add further personal information, you may do so, but only based on the sample and not exceeding the limit of one page.

Furthermore, the subject of your e-mail you send should be as follows (e.g.): CV_Career Fair_ Papadopoulou Maria _FT20.

2. After all CVs are received they will be sent to the participating companies on a CD ROM and a summary booklet of your CVs will be printed. The companies will then choose who they wish to interview. For the candidates that work we ensure that your CV does not go to your current employer.

3. You will be given a schedule of which companies have selected you for an interview. However, even if not chosen by a company, you will have the opportunity meet with that company if you so wish.

On the day of the event, you may bring with you the full version of your CV and not necessarily the one-page version.

Nearer the time, you will be sent further details, including a list of the companies taking part this year.

The Career Fair represents a wonderful opportunity for you to come into contact with representatives of major employers in the market and discuss career prospects, so see you there!

Back-to-School is an incredible opportunity to join the MBA International current students in an elective course of your interest from those that are being announced by the program.

Public Speaking seminars for the iMBA alumni!

Public Speaking Seminars for the IMBA Alumni!

As effective communication becomes one of the top skills to have nowadays, the IMBA Alumni Association is organizing a series of public speaking seminars on 24/11 and 1/12 at 18:00-21:30 at room 802.

The purpose of this initiative is to assist current students and the Alumni of our network in building confidence when they speak in public by getting feedback from some of the most acclaimed Greek public speakers and trainers.

Participants will be informed via e-mail about the subject they have to prepare and they will have to give a presentation to the panel of our experts. They will get feedback on the spot and will have the chance to learn from the best how to deliver better presentations and communicate their ideas effectively.

Meet the Public Speaking Seminars panel

Stratos Baloutsos

Stratos has been involved in public speaking and competitive debating since 2004 in many roles and functions. A seasoned public speaker, he has won many awards at debate tournaments in Greece and internationally. He was a debate coach and trainer, initially at the University of Patras debate club, and later on at the AUEB debate club. He is also a founding member of the Debating Society of Greece and the University of Patras debate club, and has organized debate tournaments for every debate club in Greece. Stratos is an iMBA alumnus and is currently a doctoral candidate at AUEB’s ELTRUN where he also works as a researcher.

Vassiliki Koniakos

Vasiliki has been introduced to competitive debating in 2003 and ever since she is actively engaged with argumentation and public speaking through various activities and positions. As a competitive debater she has won many awards, while with her moot court team she participated in several competitions winning her cases. At some point she changed side, becoming a debating coach, and public speaking and mooting trainer. She is a founding member of Law School of Athens Debating Society and has been one of the main trainers of the club until 2012. She was the Vice President and a debating and public speaking coach for the University of Turku Debating Club for five years. She has delivered numerous workshops and seminars on debating, public speaking, argumentation and presentation skills, and organized three International Open DebatingTournaments andco-hostedplentyof debating and public speaking events. Vasiliki is a master of International and Comparative Law, majoring Information Society Law and Regulation. Since 2015 she is a Doctoral Candidate of Law in University of Turku, she offers lectures on Internet Governance and Internet Law, she is a CONSTIP researcher, member of the Digital Futures Lab and an Academy of Finland scholar.


Themis Markidis


Themis had his first debating experience in 2002 and kept debating throughout his secondary education in both Greek and English. After a pause in his involvement during his university studies in the US, he helped run and train Aristotle University of Thessaloniki’s Debating Club, the Deree College debate team, and multiple schools teams. Since 2016 he is also a coach of the Greek World Schools Debating Championship team.


Athina Pitta

 Athina is the founder of Glossopolis and Team Leader of the Outbound Business Development team at Workable.

She has participated in numerous startup competitions where she pitched her business in investors but also in various media broadcasts both in TV and digital media for the promotion of her business from where she acquired her experience in selling and convincing in public. She is also a TEDxNTUA speaker and President of the IMBA Alumni Association Network.


Petros Papalianos


Petros Papalianos has studied Economics in the Athens University of Economics and Business and holds two Master's Degrees: one in 'Applied Economics and Finance' by the same University and one in 'Bank and Insurance Management' from Université Paris 13. He is currently employed as a financial officer for a private sector contractor.

Petros has been an active member of the debating community in Greece since 2001. He is a founding member and the resident coach of the Athens University of Economics and Business Debating Society. Through it he has trained a number of speakers and has organized seminars and debating tournaments throughout Greece. He has served as a judge and a member of the organizing committee for 'Antilogia', the Greek Ministry of Education’s Students Debating Competition, as well as the World Schools Debating Championship in Athens in 2009.


Kallina Basli

Kallina started debating in 2001, and since then has participated in numerous debating competitions (and won a few of them) mostly in Greece and the UK. Since 2009 she has been coaching Team Greece for the World Schools Debating Championships, and is currently the Debate & Forensics Head Coach at Athens College - Psychico College. Over the years, she has delivered debate and public speaking workshops for school and university students, as well as for companies, in over 20 countries. During her time as Director of Operations of Intelligence Squared Greece, she organised multiple public debates, including productions that aired on BBC World. She holds a Masters in Conflict Studies & Comparative Politics from LSE.
